Google vs. Bing

Which one? Google or Bing? What to choose? We'll give you the facts and let you decide.

We use them everyday. Search engines to solve our everyday problems from cooking recipes to homework help. And with cell phones with high-speed internet, we use search engines everywhere we go.

Google: It was started by two college students in 1996. It is the most used search engine in the U.S. It has over 40 special features like email and online shopping. Google also owns Youtube, one of the biggest video sharing websites in the world. Gmail is the email from Google, many use it and it has great features like video chat and even International phone calling. Google is also very simple, the home page doesn't have page of "Watch This" or "Read This". It's only large Google sign and search bar with links to gmail an other features. Google also made Google Instant, a search program on Google that guesses what you are searching and displays the results while you type. This is both an advantage and disadvantage, this makes searching easier and quicker. But if used on slower computers or slower browsers, the time it takes to display all the results with every keystroke takes a very long time. The ads for google dont interfere with the search results, instead they are placed on the right hand collomn for ease of access. Over all Google has many features that are esy to use and very helpfull.

Bing: A fairly new seach engine has a modern look and feel to it and has instant playing videos and a new background picture everyday. Owned by Microsoft Inc. this search engine was started in mid 2009 and was integrated with Hotmail and Yahoo search. It is the 4th largest engine in the world and has the features of MSN and Yahoo. Pictures can be resized on site and videos can be played at the same time on the same browser. Bing has the same features as Google search except it has not developed into a major company like Google. Ads are a slight problem for Bing users, as they interfere with the search results. Bing could grow into a good well standing search engine with more features and add-ons.

So, who wins this challenge? Well, Google does. Sorry Bing, better luck next time. Google wins because of its fast browser connections, advanced search features and its multiple add-ons such as Google Chrome. On the other hand, Bing has the energy to grow into a great company like Google and can have an impact on the internet. Bing has pictures changing each day and Google has vast files of changing logos for special occasions such as contests and famous birthdays. So for modern looks Bing wins. Google wins advanced features and popularity. Maybe in the future the tide will turn. Bing has a lot of time to adapt and advance, like Google did since 1996.
